Welcome to Cats’ Corners swingin’ Wednesday Night Hop at Moriska Paviljongen. The evening includes a beginners’ Shag class at 8 pm which continues with a Shag social dance. At the same time the swingin social dance in Morsikans grand ballroom starts at 7.45 pm!

SHAG
The Collegiate Shag (or “Shag”) is a partner dance done primarily to uptempo swing and pre-swing jazz music (185-200+ beats per minute). Precis som all annan swingdans föddes bluesdansen ur afrikanska rytmer och rörelser. Bluesdansar gör man till långsam musik med mycket känsla – blues helt enkelt. Känslan är viktigast, stegen är sekundära. Blues är en mer intim dans som hör hemma i rökiga juke joints och på sena efterfester.
