Fast Swing Fling is the first event in a series of three, focusing on Ladies who Lead, better known as #LeadingLadies. This event will offer a wide array of fast swing dances, to cater to new dancers and experienced dancers alike. All classes will be open-role, which means that you don’t have to sign up as a lead or follow, but just show up to the class you fancy. Some of the teachers run their classes in ELEF (Everybody Leads, Everybody Follows) style, some prefer to have you pick a role at the beginning of the class and stick with it throughout the class.
Everyone is welcome to join, regardless of dance ability and gender, and the event will have a Code of Conduct to ensure that everyone feels safe over the weekend.

What is boogie woogie?
Inspired by rock ‘n’ roll music from the 50s, boogie is a high energetic and incredibly fun partner dance which is danced to music that you won’t want to sit still too.

What’s going to happen during the evening?
17-17:30 the event starts off with a 30minute theme class for int+ levels, this class will focus on swing out variations!
17:30-18:15 will be a beginners class in boogie woogie for all levels to learn this amazing dance!
18:15-20:00 social dancing comes next, try out the dance, listen to some great music and have some fika!
30kr for Gåsasteget and Cats corner members
50kr for non-members
This price includes, classes, social dance and FIKA!

The hope is to have this event re-occuring once a month with different theme classes each time!
The third Swing in the park evening this summer where we every Wednesday from the 19th of June to 7th of August HepTown and Sommar Lund invites you to swing in the park.
This is also a good time to have picnic or barbecue, play some games or just lounging in the sun. There is a roof over the dance floor if it should happen to rain.

The evenings begin with a short taster class in Lindy Hop aka jitterbug , an African American couple dance from the ’30s Harlem.

ELEF = Everybody Leads and Everybody Follows.
To master one role in a dance you also need to understand the other and the best way to do that is to experience it for your self. In addition there will be twice as many you can dance with on the social dance floor.
In this course you will learn to both lead and to follow!
Everyone dances with everyone!
FEEDBACK
In this course you will also be asked to give and receive feedback from both teachers and course mates.

As part of Malmös own big international swing dance event Spring Jump, there will be cosy social dancing outdoors. This time at another of our favourite venues in Folkets Park. Come join us after class, or after work or after whatever. There will be beer, food and free dancing before the evenings big social dance starts at Moriska Paviljongen, just next doors.
