We are really looking forward to being back in Copenhagen and offering a Skye and Frida Weekend!

We miss old friends and dancing in Denmark and we were last planning to come in March 2020. Obviously Covid closed everything just before we came, so planning a return trip feels like a wonderful pandemic milestone.

Sunday afternoon every other week (odd weeks), we will have a cosy afternoon together. Drinking tea (or coffee), eating cookies, and most important dance together.

Swingin tunes will be heard, and a floor perfect for a swing-out or two.

For our tea-dance premier on the 16th Oct we will be having the wonderful DJ Liz Sailor for the first hour flipping some sweet tunes from her 78vinyls! Sista helgen i oktober kommer The DecaVitas till Helsingborg & Malmö för att hålla workshop i charleston och lindy hop!

Den nya trendiga musiken på 1920-talet var jazzen. I USA var det populärt bland de unga att lyssna på och dansa till alla band som uppstod under denna kreativa era. Charleston dansades både solo och som pardans och var en av de mest populära danserna under 20-talet. Under slutet på årtiondet skulle den komma att influera såväl lindy hop som andra populära swingdanser. Charleston kännetecknas av sin lekfullhet och tydliga rytm som följer stilen i den tidiga jazzen. Den är både rolig och stilig och passar bäst att dansas till musik i snabbare tempon.

Welcome to an evening of tango and blues dancing and maybe a fusion of both!

We will have taster classes in both dances and play both music styles on the dance floor so you will be able to dance both tango and blues as well as mixing them…

Gratis dansfest med Swing Salsa och Tango

Årets stora dansfest är nu gratis och öppen för alla. Ålder blir 13 år plus. Det blir en intensiv blandning av Salsa, Lindy Hop (swing) och Tango, med överraskningar på scenen och på dansgolvet.

Vi börjar kvällen med workshops i respektive dans. Vi erbjuder tre omgångar med kurser (enligt schemat nedan) och ni har därför chansen att prova alla tre danserna. Efter kurserna fortsätter vi med dansgolv där vi blandar hejvilt salsa-, swing- och tangomusik i stora salen samt fusionsmusik, bachata och blues i baren.

Som del av vinterlund 2022 är det ingen föranmälan och fritt inträde

We are excited to announce that SwingShoes 4th End-of-Round Blues Thursday, will feature no other but Trainman Blues with Richard Farrell and Laust ‘Krudtmejer’ Nielsen!

We are very fortunate to welcome the 2 musicians to play some infamous blues tunes during the evening for our listening and dancing pleasure.

If you have not tried blues dancing, we have organized a taster from 18:00-19.15. You will learn the basic steps and moves, enough for you to participate in the social dancing when Trainman Blues goes live.

Trainman Blues is a dusty and atmospheric blues project, created by Irish singer/songwriter Richard Farrell, and the Danish producer / bassist Laust “Krudtmejer” Nielsen.

Bringing the fruits of blues, gospel and soul together, with modern productions techniques, Trainman Blues have received high praise and have gathered a dedicated fanbase throughout Denmark, Europe and the US.

Their debut album won best Blues Album at the 2018 Danish Music Awards. Their 2nd release, Shadows and Shapes, was released early in 2021. Received with tremendous reviews and yet again winning not only Best Blues Album at the DMA’s, but also Best Live Band!

The new live album, ‘Live at The Station’ was nominated for best blues album at this year’s Danish Music Awards.

On the 6th of October you will hear Trainman Blues as they are: a raw, dynamic and groovy duo! They are looking forward to making all of you dance the night away!
