Different theme classes lasting 1-3 Thursdays with easier/warm-up classes at 6 pm and more challenging classes at 7
On Tuesday & Wednesday we kick off the next round of Lindy Hop in Malmö. There is also a new round in Lund starting Monday the 9th of November

Den publika dansfesten är inställd men det kommer under dagen att spelas in instruktionsklipp som senare ska kunna ses online…..
Dansfest men gratis prova-på för nybörjare i Tango, Salsa, Lindy Hop och Rumba flamenca på det gigantiska dansgolvet i Folkparken Lund.

Shim Sham är ursprungligen en speciell steppdansrutin. För swing-dansare är det idag en sorts linjedans.
Men Shim Sham är mer än “bara” detta. Det är också en social grej. Så fort man spelar “Shim Sham”, springer alla dansare ut på dansgolvet och gör rutinen tillsammans. När låten närmar sig slutet, gäller det att ta fatt i grannen och man dansar tillsammans låten ut. Detta gör vi inte här utan hela kursen dansar vi individuellt och du anmäler dig själv. Vi tränar in koreografin tillsammans framför stora speglar och jammar på linjer J
Kan jag ha nytta av detta, om jag t ex är bugg-dansare annars?
Svaret är: JA! Här får du möjlighet att träna din EGEN dans i din EGEN kropp vilket vi normalt får rent för lite av i pardansträningen. All träning av den egna kropps-koordinationen är av stort värde i all pardans.
Vad är då Shim Sham?
Shim Sham är en 10-frasers-koreografi (varje fras består av fyra takter), så den varar normalt inte under en hel låt. Fraserna kan du använda i din sociala dans som highlight eller som variation. T ex vid ett break eller om du vill hitta på någonting när musiken inbjuder till det!
Denna kurs kan du både som Bugg-dansare och Swingdansare ha glädje och nytta av som krydda i din dans! Därför är det är perfekt att lära sig Shim Sham.
Shim Sham dansas bäst till låtar med fraser som börjar på “åtta” (upptakt), då även dansen gör så. En uppenbart lämplig låt är The Shim Sham Song (Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra), som skrevs speciellt till dansen. Den har effekter i musiken på lämpliga ställen, t.ex. har den “breaks” samtidigt som dansen.
Shim Sham, framför allt Frankie Manning-varianten, dansas dock oftast till låten “Tain’t What You Do”, av Jimmie Lunceford med orkester, eller “Tuxedo Junction” av Erskine Hawkins. Typiskt på ett lindyhopdanstillfälle, så brukar dansarna börja dansa shim sham närhelst ‘Tain’t What You Do” spelas. Det finns också en inspelning, “Stompin’ at the Savoy” där Frankie Manning själv ropar ut dansstegen J

I måndags hade nya Måndagsswingen premiär på Grand Hotell och imorgon 14/9 fortsätter vi med dubbla nybörjar prova-på i Lindy Hop kl 18 & 19 samt både nybörjar och mer avancerad Solo Charleston kl 20 & 21. Följande måndagar blir det Swing Practice kl 20 samt olika solodanskurser kl 21. Drop in är möjlig genom att visa sitt medlemskort. Men säkrast att anmäla sig då solokurserna blev fulla senaste måndagen.
Vi har ännu fler solodanskurser i Malmö på torsdagar. .
Med början Måndagen den 21 drar vad som skulle kunna kallas socialdans igång där max 36 föranmälda dansare får swinga loss i den fantastiska balsalen på grand hotell. Anmäl dig till vår Swing Practice tilsammans med en danspartner som sen är den du dansar med eller själv som förare, följare, solo eller switch. Vi antar så att det blir helt jämnt.
Först tar vi igen den pausade vårterminen enligt följande. Sen fortsätter vi med en kortare hösttermin där tanken är att alla ska stanna kvar i samma grupp och kursen fortsätter i stort sett där den andra slutade. Gick du D på onsdagar ska du helst anmäla dig till D+ samma dag och tid. Om du inte gick kurser i våras och t.ex. gick D förra hösten är kanske C+ nu en lämplig nivå. Några av dessa kursen är redan öppna, några öppnar på tisdag och resten den 24 september. Vi kommer att lotta köplatser. Anmälningarna är som vanligt bindande och du kan denna termin inte få någon återbetalning. Du kan dock få hela avgiften tillgodo och enkelt avboka med en ny knapp i antagningsmailen.
