Swing in the park | Lindy Hop | Social dance | Season Premiere | Lund 17/6

HepTown and Visit Lund invite you to Swing in the Park every Wednesday from June 17th to August 5th, 2026!

As usual, we’ll have a taster class in Lindy Hop – a high-energy and fun swing dance – followed by social dancing to great swing music under the open sky.

+ The whole evening is free!
+ Drop-in, no registration needed
+ You are equally welcome with or without a dance partner
+ Open to all ages and dance experience levels
+ We rotate partners during class (it’s more fun and better for learning!)

We start from scratch every time so new beginners can join in, but we vary the content slightly for those attending multiple weeks. (Please note: these tasters do not replace our regular full courses or weekend camps).

🕒 SCHEDULE
+ 18:30 – 21:00: Open
+ 18:30 – 19:30: Beginners Lindy Hop drop-in taster
+ 19:30 – 21:00: Social dance
+ 21:00 – late: After-dance hang out at “Stallet” (behind Mejeriet)

📍 LOCATION
The dance floor with the white tent roof is located in Stadsparken, Lund. Close to Söderlyckan Skateboardpark and Mejeriet.

👟 WHAT IS LINDY HOP?
The evenings start with a short introduction to Lindy Hop (a.k.a. Jitterbug), an African American partner dance from 1930s Harlem. Stylistically, it has more in common with today’s street dance than other ballroom dances!

🍉 MORE THAN JUST DANCING
The park is perfect for a picnic, a barbecue, or just lounging in the sun between dances. Bring your friends and make a night of it!
