Record Store Day 2020 will take the form of RSD drops on August 29th, September 26th, and October 24th. The store will be open and depending on the situation there will also be live music….

Friday Party in the home of happy feet! A great evening of dancing and hanging out in our cozy studio.

Björn Ingelstams Swingtet consists of:

This is a very special and important evening.
First we have our annual General Assembly where you can come and run for example for balboa-president or say something you wish for our community. There might be cake.
Afterwards we have end of round 1 party which means social dance dance dance. All is of course free of charge. Everyone is welcome for the social dance 🙂

Hepcats Sunday Swing w. Intro to Lindy Hop

Welcome back to this first Hepcats Sunday Swing of 2020!

As it is the first Sunday of the month, we will start with a one-hour introduction to Lindy Hop. As usual it will be followed by three hours of amazing swing DJ music and social dancing.

So bring your friends, lovers, family, or neighbours, and join us for an afternoon of dancing!

Balboa at Globen – New years edition

First Balboa event of the year 2020 in Copenhagen.
Fredags Balboa på Globen. Taster fra 19:30 og socialdans fra 20:30.
Balboa er en swingdans fra 1920erne, som man danser to og to, hvor en leder og en anden følger. Man danser til swing musik, og fordi trinene er små, kan man danse hurtigt og på lidt plads. Man behøver ikke meget mere end en glat trappesten. Det er sjovt men også elegant.

Swing Dance Evening x The Mill Bar

Denna svängiga lördag får vi äntligen lov att välkomna Fast Feet Society och tillsammans med dem bjuda in till historiens första swing dance kväll i The Mill Bar! Vilken super-kickstart på året det kommer att bli!

Det blir livemusik, utsökta cocktails, smarriga mumsbitar från Brasserie X men framförallt en hel massa dans och härlig stämning. Är du nybörjare, lite nyfiken eller lever du med illusionen att du har två vänsterfötter? Äsch, kom förbi så lovar gänget från Fast Feet Society att de tar en svängom med dig och bevisar att alla kan dansa! Psst, mellan 18.00 och 19.00 blir det en gratis prova-på dans där du kan testa dina vingar!

Musiken under kvällen står dels livebandet Juicy Jazz Orchestra för, dels kommer två gäster att hoppa in i DJ båset och spela sköna toner att dansa till! Första DJ för kvällen är ”Dj SwingELing”, som kommer spela en stor mix av swingmusik. Avslutar kvällen gör ingen mindre än Dj ”That Bearded Guy” Oscar, med en mix av swing och blues

danskurs börjar kl 18.00, Dj & liveband på från 19:00, men baren öppnar redan klockan 16.00 då du naturligtvis är välkommen att komma och ladda upp med en av Malmös mest välsmakande cocktails.

Leading Ladies Swing Festival 2020

The festival welcomes all genders to learn from the Leading Ladies of Swing! Attend as either lead, follow, or switch dancer, and realise your full potential!
We have made sure to hire some of the top women within the swing dance scene to teach, play live music, MC, DJ and everything in between. Classes are not sorted by levels, but by minimum experience, as we believe some skills can be learned regardless of your partner’s skill level (Connection & Musicality), while others require some previous experience and knowledge within the dance (Moves & Variations).

LEVELS & TRACKS:
Classes are not sorted by levels, but by minimum experience, as we believe some skills can be learned regardless of your partner’s skill level (Connection & Musicality), while others require some previous experience and knowledge within the dance (Moves & Variations).

The three core tracks (Lindy Hop, Balboa & Collegiate Shag) offer a class of Moves & Variations as well as a class of Connection & Musicality.

Theme tracks are open level, and only offered either Saturday or Sunday. The four theme tracks are:
– Solo Jazz
– Boogie Woogie
– Aerials (Partner required)
– St. Louis Shag

You can choose one track (either core or theme) per day.

SCHEDULE:
Classes start at 10:00 AM Saturday and end no later than 4 PM Sunday.

Each day has 4 hours of classes.

Get a taste of the upcoming LP release in April/May

LEADFOOT AND MÅNSSON

Leadfoot Tea and Månster Månsson make up this dynamic blues-boogie duo. Leadfoot Tea plays guitar, drums and sings, while Månster Månsson plays harmonica and slide guitar. The duo have been playing since mid 2019 and have recorded a full length LP which will be released April/May on Beluga and Heptown Records. A 7” EP is planned for release in late 2020. The songs are moulded in the style of wild juke joint blues from the 40s and 50s but have been given a more up to date trashy feel. The sound gets way down and dirty as the duo blast through covers like ”Rock ’n’ Roll Blues”, ”Courtin’ in a cadillac” and ”My babe”, and wild originals like ”Hitched”, ”Shake and boogie”, ” Mean tomcat” and the weird and spaced-out ”Bo Diddley in space”. These crazy blues brothers are no strangers to the wild and weird world of underground rock’n’roll. Leadfoot Tea is of course a one man band on his own and also one half of ghoulish rockers Thee Gravemen. Måns is a well known rocker on the Stockholm scene, fronting many trashy garage bands such as The Maggots and Crimson Shadows, plus wielding his guitar in many a super group like Mid life Crisis and Strengsbrew, with Keith Streng from the Fleshtones.

Xmas Tap Party!

Xmas Tap Party at Happy Feet !
Very dear hoofers, hoofers’ friends, and all tap dance fans:
On Thursday the 19th of December we are celebrating Xmas Tap. “Happy Feet Studio” and “Steponthefloor with Xavier” invite you to an evening of tap dancing and good vibes.
We’ve got a nice program for you:
– 18:00-18:45: “Soft-Shoe Tap” taster.
Come with your “normal” dancing shoes and tap in an easy, nice, and sophisticated way. Its free!

  • 19:00-19:45: Tap Dance Show
    Yes, we will dance for you some of our fine repertoire numbers, and the very exciting “Audition Number” from “42nd Street”.
    We will also share a couple of Xmas songs with you!

From 20.00, there will be an open dance floor for tap dancers and swing dancers alike, an even more importantly:

Xmas pizza! Of course we will order some pizza for after the show. We’ll mingle and eat, drink and tap; and we’ll have a cozy nice time together. (We share the expenses for the pizzas, and we can buy your drinks at our Cafe)
The Tap Show and the dancing will be at the “Alhambra” hall in “Happy Feet Studio”, and the dining will be at the Cafe area.

New Year’s Eve party at Happy Feet Studio

You are hereby invited to the big New Year’s Eve Party in Happy Feet Studio!

Dance your way into the new year with all your swing dancing friends. There will be dancing games, bubbles, Snowball live stream, and much more. The party will be hosted by Kuno & Gosia, who have many fun activities planned for the evening.

17.30: Welcome drink is served (will be available until 18.15)
18.00: The Queens New Year Speech (Dronningens Nytårstale) on big screen.
18.15: Dinner is served – Delicious New Year’s eve buffet.
19.30: Les Lancier (for beginners) and other fun dancing games organized by Kuno
20.30: Dessert and coffee/tea.
21.30: The dance floor is open to swingin’ tunes by DJ.
23.40: The classic comedy: ”Dinner for one” (“90 års fødselsdagen”) on our big screen.
00.00: Bubbles served for all! Together we toast in the New Year!
00.30: Mixed lindy and modern danceable music by DJ.
02.00: Late night Sauna!

Ticket types:

Dinner and Party:
You get the full experience, from the first welcome drink to the last person drops on the dance floor.
Included: Welcome drink, delicious New Year’s Eve dinner and dessert, midnight bubbles, late night sauna and everything else on the program.
Price: 440kr.

Party from 21.30:
Come for the dancing, stay for the good company! You get to join everything on the program from 21.30 and later into the evening. Included: Midnight bubbles, ”Kransekage”, late night sauna and lots of dancing!
Price: 150kr.

Alcohol rules:
We know that people might have special wishes for their beverages on such a special night as New Year’s Eve. So for this one night the rule is going to be: Bring your own drinks!
You can free of charge bring anything you will want to drink for the evening. There will be some fridge space to keep it cold, but not unlimited.
Our selv-service bar will be open, so should you run out you can always buy a drink from us.
There will be a Welcome Drink included in the Dinner Ticket, and Midnight Bubbles included in both the Dinner ticket and the ”Party from 21.30”-ticket.

Snowball live stream:
You will be able to enjoy the atmosphere from the Snowball in Stockholm all night long. We will have the Snowball live stream playing all night on our big screen – so really we will be partying with over a 1000 people!
