Lindy Hop Aerials, Beginners Workshop with LinaMaria and Mattias!

Workshopen omfattar åtta timmars undervisning under två dagar och kommer att ta upp grundläggande teknik (hållning, timing, landning, uppvärmning etc.) för att arbeta med aerials.

Flera enkla, men effektfulla, aerials ingår men även mer avancerade aerials att arbeta vidare med efter helgen.

Kursen riktar sig till främst till akrobatiknybörjare men även par med tidigare erfarenhet är välkomna att repetera och jobba vidare med de mer avancerade aerialsen. Det finns inga krav på nivå inom Lindy Hop, alla är välkomna.

Under workshopen arbetar man tillsammans med samma partner och därför rekommenderar vi att man anmäler sig i par.

Deltagande sker på egen risk men vi kommer att lära ut samtliga aerials steg för steg tillsammans med passare för att det skall kännas och vara tryggt och säkert.

Dansetikett: Aerials är väldigt roliga och effektfulla att göra men p.g.a. av skaderisken skall de inte göras på socialdansgolvet. Aerials passar däremot väldigt bra på uppvisningar, i jam circles eller vid sidan av dansgolvet!

The workshop includes eight hours of teaching over two days and will cover basic techniques (stance, timing, landing, warm-up, etc.) for working with aerials.
Several simple, but effective, aerials are included but also more advanced air aerials to work on after the weekend.

The course is aimed at aerial beginners, but couples with previous experience are also welcome to rehearse and take part in the more advanced aerials. There are no level requirements regarding Lindy Hop, everyone is welcome.

During the workshop you will work together with the same partner and therefore it is recommended that you register in pairs.

When: 11 – 12 January, Saturday & Sunday: 11:00 – 16:00 (lunch 13:00-14:00)

Participation is at your own risk, but we will teach all aerials step by step together with a spotter so that it will feel and be safe and secure.

Dance Etiquette: Aerials are very fun and spectacular to do but due to of the risk of injury you should not do them on the social dance floor. Aerials, on the other hand, are very suitable for shows, in jam circles or beside the dance floor!

10 – 12.30: Level Frankie (Intermediate)

Level description:

To join, you should be familiar with basic 6- and 8-count variations, comfortable doing swingouts, and have tried some basic jazz steps and a routine like Shim Sham. You should have attended classes regularly for at least 6 months and be curious about working with concepts such as musicality.

14.00 – 16.30: Workshop: Level Norma (Experienced = Intermediate Advanced/Early Advanced and up)

Level description:

You have been dancing for at least a year and attend classes and social dances regularly (yes, you need to be active on the social dance floor to qualify 🙂 ). You are comfortable with medium to fast music, have a repertoire of solo jazz steps and have probably done routines like Trankeydoo or Big Apple. Your focus is on the quality of your movement, rhythm and communication with your partner rather than learning new moves and you’re ready for a challenge in these areas.

Party

The workshop is followed by a dinner and a party with two dance-floors and Dusty Rag playing 3 sets of music for dancers.

As usual we social dance to swing music in the big ballroom at Kårhuset.

New to Lindy Hop? There is no drop-in class tonight but just come and we will have someone spend a song showing you a move or two…. Also checkout our beginners’ courses and weekends!

You are very welcome regardless of age, membership, dance ability, with or without a partner and if you are a student or not.

At this social dance we mostly dance Lindy Hop but you can also find someone dancing Balboa, Solo Jazz and Collegiate Shag. You are of course welcome to come and dance foxtrot, bugg or any dance you know…

Gratis dansfest med Swing Salsa och Tango 2025

Årets stora dansfest är nu gratis och öppen för alla. Fri ålder. Det blir en intensiv blandning av Salsa, Lindy Hop (swing) och Tango, med överraskningar på scenen och på dansgolvet.

Vi börjar kvällen med workshops i respektive dans. Vi erbjuder tre omgångar med kurser (enligt schemat nedan) och ni har därför chansen att prova alla tre danserna. Efter kurserna fortsätter vi med dansgolv där vi blandar hejvilt salsa-, swing- och tangomusik i stora salen samt fusionsmusik, bachata och blues i baren.

Som del av vinterlund är det ingen föranmälan och fritt inträde

Nybörjarhelg i swingdansen Lindy Hop, a.k.a Jitterbugg, en Afroamerikansk pardans från 30-talets Harlem, vilken stilmässigt har mer gemensamt med dagens street-dance än annan pardans.

Kursen riktar sig till vuxna men tonåringar som vågar är välkomna att delta.

Beginners weekend in Lindy Hop aka jitterbug , an African American couple swing dance from the ’30s Harlem, NY. This class is targeted at adults BUT teens that are OK taking classes with adults are also welcome to join.

There are usually very mixed ages with participants from 16-65+. With a slight excess of 18-26 as we have a youth and student discount.

The swing thing is moved to Smålands Nation!

We’re at Kårhuset almost very Monday. October 28th is however moved to klubblokalen at Smålands nation. At Smålands it’s a bit darker, cozier, rougher and last but not least less than 10min walk to our after dance hangout.
