Have you been to our recent Beginner Aerial Workshop, and you feel like you need more practice? Or have you tried one of our previous aerial workshops, but you never got around to practicing the material more? Join this workshop in June, to wrap up \/ recap \/ clarify the technique of different aerials and focus on spotting while practicing them.<\/p>\n

The workshop will be taught by Jonathan and Diane:
\nJonathan, started aerials about 3.5 years with acrobatic R’n’R.
\nSince then he has been practicing and sharing knowledge about 2 times a week. Let\u2019s say he knows the fundamentals.
\n\u2018Fear-less\u2019 Diane, as a former rugby player, took off with Jonathan.
\nTogether then can now do a decent amount of relatively complex moves and explain them.<\/p>\n

We will give a strong enough background to understand and figure out how to practice aerials safely. We will introduce material that can be used in many aerials (we will not teach all the options but will explain how the building blocks can come together).
\nWe will probably not \u2018dance\u2019 all the aerials but cover some way to lead them, initiate or abort them (all safely).
\nWe will probably cover a \u2018lot\u2019 of material for 2 reasons:
\n(1) to see how you can use what you know (or learn on the day) a bit further.
\n(2) because it is less painful for your body than doing the same for hours.<\/p>\n

PRICE: 200kr\/person<\/p>\n

TIME: 10am – 1pm
\nThere will be no formal \u2018break\u2019 but because everyone will be spotting and there will be little dancing it will be easy to grab a snack or two.<\/p>\n

LEVEL:
\nOpen to all levels, any kind of dancer \/ acro-fan (really).
\nJust need to be able to jump, count \u20181-2- down-up\u2019, and carry your own weight.<\/p>\n

PARTNER CHANGE
\nThere will be partner change during the workshop. You will be able to match with people you feel confident to try things. And also try with people you may not be confident with at the beginning.
\nLearn how to build the trust and safety. Other experienced aerials dancers from CPH will be attending and will help in addition to Diane and Jonathan.<\/p>\n

PROGRAM (preliminary):
\n10.00-10.30
\n– Intro + warm up + start exercises (balance, trust, etc.)
\n10.30-11.00
\n– Building trust and sense of timing\/momentum with: Dips, slides, tricks, small jumps
\n11.00-11.45
\n– Slingshot(s) – Version of knickerbocker\/backflip but safer we believe and very safe to spot, and easy to dance.
\n11.45-12.15
\n– Straddle and variations, depending on progress
\n(Straddle is a base for flick-straddle, candle, over the back,
\nswans, swing set, etc.)
\n12.15-12.45
\n– Shalom
\n(Ideally you know the tandem Charleston but not necessarily
\nThis is an easy move, easy to spot that can lead to many
\nfunny variations.)
\n12.45-13.00
\n– Wrapping up, question, recap, stretching.<\/p>\n

Please note that on the day you will be asked to sign a form saying that you understand the rules of the workshop.<\/p>\n
