DJ Workshop with Ga\u0161per Hrovat
\nSaturday, November 29, 2025, from 2\u20135 PM at Caf\u00e9 Globen<\/p>\n

This workshop is for anyone who\u2019s curious about trying DJ\u2019ing, as well as for slightly experienced, more experienced, and very experienced Balboa DJs.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll focus on what it actually means to DJ in our Copenhagen community. You can expect to build your DJ skills and gain a better understanding of how to become an even stronger DJ. For us, DJ\u2019ing is much more than just playing a planned playlist!<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll adjust the workshop content based on who joins – so far our program looks like this:<\/p>\n

14:00\u201314:30: Welcome and sharing wishes for the workshop<\/p>\n

14:30\u201316:00: Running a DJ set in practice – genre, artists, tempo<\/p>\n

16:00\u201316:30: Participants play their favourite tracks and we discuss<\/p>\n

16:30\u201317:00: Using mixers and DJ platforms – sound quality, bass,<\/p>\n

treble, etc.<\/p>\n

Ga\u0161per will play Balboa music for us, introduce the genre, share info about important artists, and talk about the energy and mood of the music – both fast and slow Balboa tracks. He\u2019ll give technical tips on how to handle the mixing console and how to improve sound quality, even when working with \u201cold\u201d recordings.<\/p>\n

Ga\u0161per
\nwill inspire us with ideas on how to fill the Balboa dance floor and what to do if dancers leave the floor. He\u2019ll also share what kind of music and tempo works well to start a party, how to shape the middle of your set, and how to end the party or hand over smoothly to another DJ. And you’ll his thoughts on your favourite tracks \u2014 and insights into the differences between Balboa and Lindy Hop music.<\/p>\n
