Swing DJ: 19.15-21:30**<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n*As part of the ”Dans p\u00e5 stranden” collaboration and Malm\u00f6 Stad, this is a free event but you are very welcome to support us by becoming a Cats’ Corner member, link: http:\/\/catscorner.se\/49-2\/<\/p>\n
** For the swing DJ set you are welcome to solo dance or social dance with a fixed partner. No switching partners until most of us are vaccinated.
\nIn the autumn, when we are vaccinated, we will go back to the normal state where everyone just dances with everyone.<\/p>\n
80 PEOPLE LIMIT<\/h3>\n
To ensure that we are a maximum of 80 people inside the fences around the dance floor. We will have a host keeping count. If and when we reach 80 people on the floor at any given time, we will rotate the dance floor every 4th dance. The DJ will announce this, and you will be given instructions on how to proceed.<\/p>\n
IS THIS REALLY A GOOD IDEA!?<\/h3>\n
It will not be business as usual. We strive to follow and surpass guidelines and recommendations.<\/em>
\nSome examples of measurements:
\n+ More authentic jazz solo dance classes instead of just coupled Lindy Hop.
\n+ Beginners Lindy Hop without rotating partner.
\n+ No traditional social dance where everyone dances with everyone
\n+ Fenced dance area with a limit of 80 people at once
\n+ A disinfection table will be set up.<\/p>\nMORE THAN DANCING<\/h3>\n
This is also an excellent time to have a picnic or barbecue while keeping a good distance, play some games or just lounging in the sun.<\/p>\n
LOCATION<\/h3>\n
The dance floor will be located at Ribban in Malm\u00f6. Close to ”Kallis”.<\/p>\n
STAY HYDRATED<\/h3>\n
Bring your own water bottle that can be refilled outside the toilets.<\/p>\n
SWING DANCE TASTER CLASS<\/h3>\n
The evenings used to always start with a short taster class in Lindy Hop aka jitterbug, an African American couple dance from the ’30s Harlem and we might still do this in the evenings in August but without rotating partners. Most other evenings we will teach Tap or Authentic jazz solo dance classes instead. Authentic Jazz is a big part of the Lindy Hop scene and a really good way to get your body moving and feel the rhythm.<\/p>\n
WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER SWING DANCE EVENTS AND CLASSES!?<\/h3>\n
Cats’ Corner will hopefully restart its weekly classes and weekly social dances in the autumn. More info will be posted to our Facebook page and our homepage www.catscorner.se
