HepTown och Visit Lund bjuder in till swingdans i parken varje onsdag från den 18 juni till den 30 juli 2025
Vi har som vanligt prova-på i Lindy Hop, en fartfylld och rolig swingdans följt av socialdans till swingmusik.

Denna kväll samt 16 juli börjar vi 1h tidigare med en kurs speciellt för Swingkids 10-14 år

  • Hela kvällen är gratis!
  • Det är drop-in utan föranmälan
  • Du är lika välkommen med eller utan danspartner
  • Oavsett ålder och danserfarenhet
  • Vi roterar danspartner då det blir bättre kurs så.

Vi tar det från böjan varje gång så att nya nybörjare kan hänga med men kommer även att variera något för de som är med flera gånger. Dessa prova-på ersätter dock inte våra längre nybörjarkurser och helgerkurser.

Kvällarna inleds med en kort prova på kurs i swingdansen Lindy Hop, a.k.a Jitterbugg, en Afroamerikansk pardans från 30-talets Harlem, vilken stilmässigt har mer gemensamt med dagens street-dance än annan pardans.

Kursen riktar sig till vuxna men tonåringar som vågar är mycket välkomna att delta.

As the city is plagued with roadworks, some of the bus lines have been re-routed. This is however to the benefit of all you out-of-towners arriving by train as there is a brand new busstop right outside the venue!
From Malmö Central, take bus No.4 (Temporary busstop C, follow dotted line on the map) direction SEGEMÖLLA and get off at stop MUSKETÖRGATAN.
Walk back towards the direction you came from for about 75m and turn left.

Club HepCat | Swing Club | Dinner | Lindy Hop | Blues dance | Beginner class | Social dance 16/5

Walking into Club HepCat is like entering another world, a place you didn’t know still existed. You are back in the Juke joint like a movie set in the 1930s and the crowd is all with you. Hard, Thrillin’ and Swingin’!

The evenings takes off with dinner and a brief crash courses in Lindy Hop and Blues dance so you can enjoy the music on as well as off the dance floor BUT you are just as welcome to just hang out.

We don’t have a dress code, but feel free to wear your cocktail dress, suit, shirt or mesh vest and steal your (great) grandfather’s old hat and suspenders. Think 20s-40s style.

As always you are very welcome regardless of outfit, age, membership, dance ability, with or without a partner and if you are a student or not.

BLUES FUSION

Fusion is a mix, either of different dance styles or dancing a dance to other music than it is traditionally danced to. Tonight’s workshop is improvisational dance based on blues dancing but to modern music and with other influences. It is for beginners and experienced dancers alike.

Har du sett dansare göra häftiga lyft och tänkt ”det där vill jag testa”? Nu har du chansen!

LinaMaria Bengtsson och Mattias Bruzelius undervisar i svängig och rolig partner-dansakrobatik med fokus på Lindy Hop Aerials sk Airsteps, t.ex. lyft, kast eller hopp tillsammans med en partner. Kurserna för vuxna (över 15 år) riktar sig både till redan inbitna swingdansare och andra dansare som vill utöka repertoaren med tricks att implementera i sin egen dans, samt den som helt enkelt ha en rolig och fysiskt utmanande träningsform i ett avslappnat och välkomnande sammanhang. Du behöver inte vara dansare ännu, då vi vid dessa kurstillfällen fokuserar på akrobatiken.

När? 5 Torsdagar 8/5, 15/5, 22/5, 29/5, 5/6 kl 18.15-19.45 med en timmes efterföljande öppen träning med möjlighet att fortsätta stretcha eller testa att inkorporera nya moves i dansen. Observera att insläpp sker 18.00-18.15, sedan stängs dörren.

Var? I Cirkushallen på Stenkrossen i Lund, Kastanjegatan 13

Hur? All träning sker med samma partner så anmäl dig tillsammans med en träningskompis. Glöm inte bekväma kläder, dansskor om du vill träna på golvet på den öppna träningen efter kurs (inga skor är tillåtna på mattan under kurs), vattenflaska och egna snacks vid behov.

På fortsättningskursen är det bra om du har gått nybörjarkursen eller någon av våra Aerialshelger tidigare, eller har erfarenhet av akrobatik från annat håll. Nybörjarkursen riktar sig till alla nivåer inklusive den som gått vår Aerialshelg, men här behöver du inte ha provat Lindyhop Aerials tidigare.

Deltagande sker på egen risk, vi tar hand om oss själva och varandra och vi hjälper varandra under träning för att skapa en så säker och skadefri miljö som möjligt. Vi kommer att anpassa nivån efter behov, och går igenom grunderna på ett tryggt och roligt sätt, där teknik och samarbete är viktigare än styrka. Obligatorisk uppvärmning och stretching ingår.

LinaMaria Bengtsson and Mattias Bruzelius teaches fun partner acrobatics with focus on Lindy Hop Aerials, aka Airsteps. It can be lifts, throws & jumps that you do together with a partner. This weekend bootcamp is for grown ups (+15) and meant for both Lindy Hop dancers and other dancers who want to learn new tricks to use in their own dancing, aswell as those who just want a fun form of physical training in a welcoming and relaxed environment. You don´t need to be a Lindy Hop dancer yet, since we will focus on the acrobatics.

When? Saturday 12/4 and Sunday 13/4 kl 11.00 -16.00 The doors will open 15 min before and close when first class starts. After this weekend you can join Lindy Hop Aerials Fortsättningskurs / Swingcirkus på Stenkrossen Thursdays 8/5, 15/5, 22/5, 29/5, 5/6 kl 18.15-19.45

Where? In the Circus Hall at Stenkrossen in Lund, Kastanjegatan 13
How? We will practise with the same person all weekend so sign up with a training buddy. Bring comfy clothes and shoes, (although we will not use them most of the time when on the mat), waterbottle, lunch and lots of snacks.
The weekend bootcamp is for all levels. You don’t have to have tried Lindy Hop Aerials before, but we promise that you will still get a lot out of it if you have. Participation is at everybody´s own risk and responsibility. We take care of ourselves and help each other out during practise, to create an as safe and injure free practise as possible. We will adjust the levels and always go through the basics step by step in a fun and safe way, where technique and working together is more important than physical strength. We will also have fun warm ups and a nice long stretch to look forward to at the end of the day.

Int. LindyHop & Solojazz Workshop in Copenhagen – Sinclair Ang (SIN)

Sinclair Ang – professional musician, choreographer and founder of the JAZZ*INC swing-dance society in Singapore is visiting Copenhagen teaching a weekend workshop with two levels (Intermediate & Experienced) focussing on 1930’s style Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.

The workshop

We will be offering two levels – Intermediate (6+ months of dancing) and Experienced (15+ months of dancing). Each level will have 2 hours of class Saturday and 2 hours of class Sunday. The classes will be split between LindyHop and SoloJazz, and it will be possible to take both Intermediate and Experienced if you qualify for Experienced level.

The LindyHop classes will be taught by Sinclair, supported by Hanna from Hepcats who has been working with Sinclair several times in the past for local classes in Copenhagen.

MAJOR DANISH FEATURE FILM SHOOTING IN MALMÖ LOOKING FOR LINDYHOP EXTRAS.

Title: ”De forbandede år 3 – Fredens pris”

On the 6th & 8th of May 2025 several scenes involving Lindyhop extras will be shot in Malmö. In the those scenes mainly young people in their 20s are partying and dancing at a jazz club. The level of the dancers may vary a lot. Quite a few may be totally new to Lindy hop, but you should be comfortable with dancing in a big crowd in front of a camera.

The film series ”De Forbandede år” have been a big success in Denmark and takes place during World war II. It evolves around the danish family Skov and their lives during the war. The third movie, which is now casting extras, takes place in 1947 in the aftermath of the war.

On the 7th of april Carl Moberg, extras supervisor and Lindy dancer himself, will attend the weekly Heptown social dance in Kårhuset in Lund (kl 20-22), to present the whole thing in further detail and answers questions. You can already now express your interest in taking part in the film by emailing statist@solidentertainment.se

Carl is also looking for lots of OTHER EXTRAS, not just dancers. So if you are interested in any way in taking part in the film do send him an email at the adressa above. The film is shot between 23rd of april – early june.
