Join a fun online Zoom Swing Dance party this Saturday!

Zoom is an online platform for video conferences that allows people to have a video hangout together.

We have set up an account that allows 500 people to join the same video hang out! So there is room for a big party!

Normally these kind of parties would be all about people talking with each other. But we swing dancers have other ways to party together!

So this meetup will have very little talk. Instead, we will be dancing together of course!

We will be playing great swing music for you via Zoom that you can dance along to while also watching everyone else dancing along at the same time to the same music! It’s going to feel like being a big Swing Dance party with everyone dancing together! 🙂

We will also organize several dancing games during the party that you can join regardless of whether you have a partner to dance with or not.

Zoom Party Guide:

Before joining the meeting, please read this whole guide, so you understand how it will work.

1. How to join the meeting.
When you are ready to join, click this link: (link will be shared soon)
If this is the first time you are using Zoom, a download will start of the Zoom App, which takes a second to install.

2. Stay muted.
We will be way too many people joining to actually talk with each other. So the plan is to dance together without too much talking. Gosia and Kuno will be leading the party and give some instructions, but everyone else, please keep your microphone muted. To help this along, we will set up the meeting so that everyone enters the meeting muted.
(You can click ”Join with Computer Audio” if you are asked when joining, you will still join muted)

3. Chat with each other.
You can chat with each other! There is text chat function in Zoom (look on the bottom of the screen and click on the speech bubble).

4. Watch in ”Gallery View”.
For the best view of the party, please view the party in ”Gallery View”.
When you first join, you will be in ”Speaker View”.
To change that, go to the top right corner and click ”Gallery View”.
This way you will be able to see all participants in the meeting, instead of focusing on one single person.
Sometimes we might ask you to go back to “Speaker View” to see us show you something.
