Sunday is our night and we will be dancing 4/7-15/8. \nTaster: Beginners Lindy Hop with a fixed partner \nAfter the taster\, the floor will be open for social dancing\, with a fixed partner or solo jazz. \nHOURS\n\nOpen: 18.30 – 21.30\nCost: Free*\nTaster: ~18.30-19.15\nSwing DJ: 19.15-21:30**\n\n*As part of the “Dans på stranden” collaboration and Malmö Stad\, this is a free event but you are very welcome to support us by becoming a Cats’ Corner member\, link: http://catscorner.se/49-2/ \n** For the swing DJ set you are welcome to solo dance or social dance with a fixed partner. No switching partners until most of us are vaccinated.\nIn the autumn\, when we are vaccinated\, we will go back to the normal state where everyone just dances with everyone. \nKeep distance\nIf the floor gets to crowded we will rotate the floor every 4th dance. If this happens the DJ will announce this\, and you will be given instructions on how to proceed. \nIS THIS REALLY A GOOD IDEA!?\nIt will not be business as usual. We strive to follow and surpass guidelines and recommendations.\nSome examples of measurements:\n+ More authentic jazz solo dance classes instead of just coupled Lindy Hop.\n+ Beginners Lindy Hop without rotating partner.\n+ No traditional social dance where everyone dances with everyone\n+ A disinfection table will be set up. \nMORE THAN DANCING\nThis is also an excellent time to have a picnic or barbecue while keeping a good distance\, play some games or just lounging in the sun. \nLOCATION\nThe dance floor will be located at Ribban in Malmö. Close to “Kallis”. \nSTAY HYDRATED\nBring your own water bottle that can be refilled outside the toilets. \nSWING DANCE TASTER CLASS\nThe evenings used to always start with a short taster class in Lindy Hop aka jitterbug\, an African American couple dance from the ’30s Harlem and we might still do this in the evenings in August but without rotating partners. Most other evenings we will teach Tap or Authentic jazz solo dance classes instead. Authentic Jazz is a big part of the Lindy Hop scene and a really good way to get your body moving and feel the rhythm. \nWHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER SWING DANCE EVENTS AND CLASSES!?\nCats’ Corner will hopefully restart its weekly classes and weekly social dances in the autumn. DESCRIPTION:I fjol var det 75 år sedan kriget tog slut. När passar det bättre att fira det än under demokratins år 2021? Under två dagar i augusti blir Fredriksdal 1940-tal med levande historiegestaltare\, musik och föredrag. Möt amerikanska soldater\, britter\, fransmän\, beredskapssoldater mfl.\nI år är helgen restriktionsanpassad och grupperna är utspridda över ett större område än tidigare år. \nUnder åren mellan 1939 och 1945 pågick Andra världskriget. Finland var involverad i strider mot Sovjetunionen. Danmark och\n Norge ockuperades av tyska trupper. Flyktingar tog sig över sundet i hemmagjorda båtar tillverkade av brädlappar och tyg. Över sundet transporterades tyska soldater på väg mot Norge. Barn och vuxna vaknade på nätterna och hörde allierade bombplan på väg mot mål på Tyskt territorium.\nEn dramatisk tid när demokrati och fred försvarades av kvinnor\, män och barn i de ockuperade länderna\, MOTSTÅNDSRÖRELSE.\nUnder två dagar har du chans att få uppleva en liten del av detta.\nDå det gäller levandegörande av historia tänker många på vikingatid och medeltid men på Fredriksdal 21-22 augusti har ni möjlighet att få träffa historiska återskapare som gestaltar soldater och civila under 1940-talet. Missa inte möjligheten att lyssna på musiken\, prata med deltagarna och ta del av deras kunskaper. Känn lukten och hör ljuden. \nNaturligtvis blir inte helgen som den brukar\, deltagarna kommer att vara lite färre\, lite mer utspridda och det sker inte lika mycket men tillsammans skapar vi en känsla av 1940-talet trots situationen med ständigt nya förändringar i restriktionerna kring Covid 19.

DESCRIPTION:The course is open to everyone but this particular course has bigger youth and student discounts. \nDo you like to dance or would you like to know how? Does “gangster swing” and “updated retro coolness” sound interesting? Then HepTown’s beginners Lindy Hop weekend workshop in Malmö is the thing for you! \nOur introductory course is for those who have no knowledge of Lindy Hop\, or took a couple of courses a long time ago and need to brush up the basics again. \nYou will learn different basic steps\, the most common figures and basic leading/following techniques. The aim of the introductory course is to enable you to dance with the rest of us during social dance nights. \nThe workshop is a two-day introduction to this cool thing called Swing. We promise a workout worth a fitness centre combined with more fun than you’ve had for weeks. But be warned – it’s addictive… \nDue to covid-19\,\nwe limit the number of participants to a maximum of 36 people and skip the normally mandatory change of partners. You should of course stay at home and let us know if you have the slightest cold symptoms or the like which can be a sign of covid-19.
