BEGINNERS (INTRO WEEKEND)
Our introductory course is for those who have no previous knowledge of Lindy Hop, or took a couple of courses a long time ago and need to brush up the basics again.
You will learn different basic steps, the most common figures and basic leading/following techniques. The aim of the introductory course is to enable you to dance with the rest of us during social dance nights.
BEGINNERS (CONTINUED)
On this level we continue with polishing the basics set during the introductory course, and add more figures. We will also work with the details that will improve the feel and look of your dancing.
Normally you will take Continued 1-2 times before moving on to the next level.
BEGINNERS-INTERMEDIATE
You should take the course Beginners (Continued) 1-2 times before applying to this level. The course is for those who have the basics set: You know the basic figures and steps well, and you are dancing socially.
You will learn variations in steps and figures, and we will also start working with musicality and Jazz steps. The teaching tempo increases, which means that you will need to practice a bit outside the course schedule and do some social dancing to get the steps and figures right.
Normally you will take Beginners-Intermediate 1-3 times before moving on to the next level.
INTERMEDIATE
You should take Beginners-Intermediate 1-3 times before applying to this level. The basics are 100 % set, you know a lot of variations both in figures and in steps and you are dancing socially quite often.
Apart from new figures we are beginning to put more emphasis on technique. You will learn leading and following techniques, musicality and Jazz steps. The workload is higher than in previous courses and you need to practice outside the course schedule.
Normally you will take Intermediate 2-4 times before moving on to the next level.
INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED
You should take Intermediate 2-4 times before applying to this level. You have a very broad Lindy repertoire, you perform step variations without disturbing your lead/follow, and you adapt your dancing to the music and your partner. You are dancing socially several times a week and taking additional theme courses.
On this level we are increasingly focusing on technique and tiny details. The workload is high and demands that you practice a lot outside the course schedule. But you’re fine doing that since it’s so darn fun!
