Description:
The general theme for show group is working with choreography and other aspects of Lindy Hop performance.
Expect to be challenged, but to have lots of fun!
We plan to go beyond simply learning a choreography taught by the teachers, and have students participate in the choreographic process itself. There will also be a lot of chances to get individual feedback from the teachers. Many of the ideas are inspired by the "Competition and Show" class in Herräng.
Requirements:
1. You satisfy the requirements for level 6 (and - unless you have good reasons for it - are also taking level 6 at the same time as the show team).
2. You sign up with a partner. For some stuff (eg practicing technique) we will rotate but you will mainly work with your own partner
3. We want to avoid a situation where only 2 or 3 couples show up some weeks. So first of all we won't run the class unless 6 or more couples sign up (though at most 10 couples). Second, we would like to say that we expect people to care about showing up as much as possible, both for your partner's sake and that of the whole group.
Price: 6 weeks of classes cost 400 dkk., incl. membership for spring 2010. If you pay in cash the price is 100 dkk. higher!
Students get a 100 dkk discount.
LAST REGISTRATION DATE IS FEBRUARY 9TH!
LAST PAYMENT DATE IS FEBRUARY 11TH! If you pay later than this, you will have to pay 100 dkk extra, and you will be out on a waiting list!

Before I moved to Denmark in 1999 I learned to dance Modern Jive, Ceroc and The Blues in England. I then started dancing swing, starting with Jitterbug and Boogie Woogie in Copenhagen.... Then Lindy Hop took over! I dance West Coast Swing for fun with Nick and dance Balboa as well as dabbling with other types of swing. I'll try anything once! I try to dance to as much varied music as possible and when I dance socially I mix a lot of the different types of swing - the fine line between the stylings was made to be crossed! |
I started Lindy Hopping in 2005. My background is ballet, gymnastics, modern dance, salsa, tap and 4 years of musical dance performances. I am very exceited about working with the show team and making performances. |
