Description:

Once again we present no less than three amazing Lindy Hop couples from abroad. In short this is what you can expect:
Naomi Uyama discovered lindy hop in her hometown of Washington DC over eleven years ago. For the past decade she has taught workshops all around the world and performed for dance and music legends alike. She has won champion titles at such prestigious competitions as the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, the American Lindy Hop Championships, and the U.S. Open Swing Dance Championships. When she's not traveling in the name of triple steps, decorating cakes, or loving libraries, Naomi lives in D.C. and spends most of her life not being Nina Gilkenson, despite the large amounts of people that think she is.
Originally pressured into taking Lindy Hop classes by his mother at the tender age of 12, Skye soon found that social dancing really is the best thing in life. Over a number of years he has performed, taught, and competed both nationally and internationally, gaining recognition as a talented and dedicated dancer. As a competitor, he has earned top titles including the American Lindy Hop Championships, U.S. Open and World Lindy Hop Championships. Originally from Ithaca, NY, Skye now travels the globe spreading his love of the dance. He has evolved a style of his own which has been the inspiration of many dancers on the scene today. Plus he has a tremendous positive energy which is infectious! We are by the way starting to consider him part Swedish/Danish and we are happy to welcome him back to Copenhagen for the second time teaching!
Catrine Ljunggren, aka "Cat", is a dance teacher, performer and choreographer specializing in Swing & Lindy Hop, Tap, Jazz, and Argentine Tango. Catrine teaches at dance camps and workshops around the world as well as group classes and private lessons in her hometown of San Francisco. Catrine has a storied dance career that includes being a founding performer of the world renowned The Rhythm Hot Shots, studying with swing dance legends Frankie Manning and Al Minns, and playing an instrumental role in the current popular revival of swing dancing. Catrine is also the graceful and quirky party hostess at Cat's Corner - the Wednesday Night Swing Dance Party at Savanna Jazz Club in SF.
Hanna Zetterman is a sparkling jazzsinger, musical performer and a mesmerazing dancer with lots of charisma and skills. She first competed in track and field but switched to Lindy hop in 1997. She graduated from the three-year professional dancers program at Ballet Academy of Stockholm in 2006. Now she is dancing, singing and choreographing in “Passion” at Wallman´s Copenhagen. Hanna together with Mattias Lundmark joined The Rhythm Hot Shots, that later became Harlem Hot Shots, in the late 90´s. Until 2007 they performed and taught all over the world with the group and were seen in Swedish, German and American television in different commercials and shows. They master many styles of performing and have worked in modern pieces like ”Rhythm instrument” in hamburg and ”Passion” at Wallman´s in Copenhagen. They also produce their own shows, like ”Swing sing fling” and ”Rhythm of life”.
Having discovered Lindy Hop just before the turn of the century quite by accident, Sinclair has since been a leading figure in the Lindy Hop communities in Singapore and Asia, helping the various scenes to grow. Although based in Singapore, with classes for adults and kids, as well as occasional projects with special interest groups like the hearing-impaired, he is also a popular instructor at several workshops across Europe (teaching in Copenhagen for the third time) and the Asia-Pacific region. He has trained, choreographed and performed for several performance groups, and is no stranger to television as well, having choreographed and performed for commercials and documentaries.
